3. Dinesh D’Souza compares Trump to an Old Testament prophet

Conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza compared the president’s praise of Allah to the Old Testament account of the prophet Elijah, who mocked the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18.

D’Souza suggested Trump was utilizing a method of mockery similar to Elijah, writing, “If you’re still trying to figure out Trump’s 'Praise be to Allah,' reflect on this: And Elijah mocked the prophets of Baal, saying, 'Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened.'”
