Ohio Man Takes 50 Homeless People to Dinner at Four-Star Restaurant

Credit :

Every city in America could use a Joel Testa. With the help of friends, Testa, a developer in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, cooked a meal for 50 homeless people this week, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. But it was a charity dinner unlike any other they've ever had: a gourmet four-course feast that included spinach quiche salad, potato leek soup, braised beef short ribs and chocolate mousse for dessert, all in the luxury of the four-star restaurant Testa owns. Seconds and takeout bags were also handed out.

According to this Gawker comment, the day also saw Testa and 60 volunteers give out over 750 lunches, clothes and basic necessities amoung the estimated 800 homeless people in Akron. Helping the homeless is nothing new to the developer, who's fighting to build a 60-unit apartment building for veterans, the homeless and the disabled.
