Popular televangelist Pat Robertson says he doesn't believe in ghosts but when a CBN viewer asked him for advice on how to deal with a haunted house on Tuesday he laughingly said he would burn it down with the demons in it and get out of dodge.

In a description of the haunting that read like scenes lifted straight from a Hollywood horror movie script, the viewer details troubling bouts of paranormal activity of "ghosts that look like people."

"My house is haunted. There is moaning coming from the walls, lights turn on and off, the TV changes channels on its own, the beds move, stuff floats off tables, mirrors break, and there is sometimes creepy fog," noted the viewer in a letter read on CBN's 700 Club.

"The ghosts look like people, but have dark blue light around their feet and hands. What do I do?" asked the viewer.

"If it was me, I would burn the house down and move on," Robertson laughed.

"But assuming you can't afford that, I don't believe in ghosts, I don't think the Bible supports the concept of people coming back to haunt houses," he explained.

"But I do believe in demons. The Bible clearly says there's fallen angels and these demonic forces, and you need to get people to come and to get people to do an exorcism over that property and command those demons to leave. That's what you do. You take authority in the name of Jesus," he said.

"And if you can't do that, move," he ended.

The spirited televangelist advised another viewer earlier this year on how to deal with potential spirits that might attach themselves to secondhand clothes she purchased from Goodwill and other stores after her mother warned her of the danger.

"I buy a lot of clothes and other items at Goodwill and other secondhand shops. Recently my mom told me that I need to pray over the items, bind familiar spirits, and bless the items before I bring them into the house.

Is my mother correct? Can demons attach themselves to material items," asked the woman identified as Carrie.

"The answer is yes," replied Robertson. "But I don't think every sweater you get from Goodwill has demons in it," he added laughing.

"But in sense, your mother is just being super cautious. It isn't gonna hurt you to rebuke any spirits that happen to have attached themselves to those clothes," he said.
