Pony Shows Mother's Love, Stands in Front of Foal to Shield Her From Fire (VIDEO)
When a barn fire struck a farm in Alvarado, Tex. earlier this month, one pony showed how a mother's love comes in all forms and animals.
Bella and Butterscotch are a mother and daughter who were trapped when their barn caught on fire. The sheep and chickens died, but Butterscotch emerged with only a few singes. That's because her mom, Bella, who suffered far worse burns, stood in front of her baby to protect her from the flames and falling debris.
The ponies are both recovering from the fire. Their caretakers hope that people will contribute to fund the rest of the expensive rehab treatment.
