Radiohead Will Release New Album, Hints on Using 'Very New Technology'

Since 2014, Radiohead fans are in constant search of any news regarding the band's upcoming album. But just like before, the band and their representatives are tight lipped about it. Will the band release a new album this year?

As of latest news, the band is currently hard at work on their latest studio album. They started recording in November until before Christmas, as Phil Selway, the band's drummer shared with Drowned in Sound.

"We worked throughout the autumn up to just before Christmas and now we're just taking some time away from other projects," Selway said. He added that the band reconvened this March to reassess where they are in the process, so far. Although, they are making good progress in terms of recording, they do not want to divulge any release date for their album.

Despite the busy schedule each band member has, Radiohead is striving to make their schedules meet so they can proceed on working on their album. While recording in India last February , lead guitarist Jonny Greenwood was interviewed by The Sunday Guardian, where he shared that they indeed worked on the album for a couple of months. He even let it on a few hints about what the album would be like.

"We've certainly changed our method again. It's too involved. We're kind of limiting ourselves; working on limits. So we'll see what happens. It's like we're trying to use very old and very new technology to see what happens," he explained.

The English band went on a hiatus after their successful 2011 King of Lambs album tour. Some of the band members went on to pursue their solo projects. Lead singer Thom Yorke worked with his other band, Atoms for Peace, to record Amok. Yorke also released his second solo album, Tomorrow's Modern Boxes. Greenwood kept himself busy by working on the soundtrack of "Inherence Vice" while Selway released his solo album, Weatherhouse.
