Rick Ross Seizure Scare: Loses Consciousness on Flight

It has been reported that rapper Rick Ross fell unconscious shortly after takeoff on a plane heading to Memphis.

The performer, who's real name is William Roberts, reportedly had a seizure on his flight from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., heading to Memphis, Tenn., according to TMZ.

The plane made an emergency landing at 12:55 p.m. EST, just minutes after take off – where he was met by EMT workers who frantically tried to resuscitate him.

Sources told TMZ, Ross' entourage jumped from their seats when they saw the rapper struggling and alerted airplane personnel. A doctor on board started to administer CPR.

Close friend of Ross, rapper Wale, tweeted "I just talked to Ross...he's 100 pct ok," at 10:50 a.m. PST.

At 2:05 p.m. EST Ross tweeted to fans that he was ok. He also said he still has plans to perform tonight at the FedExForum in Memphis even though he was still hospitalized at the time of the announcement.

Ross is also slated to perform Friday at a free event called "Memphis Madness." It's the kickoff party for the University of Memphis' basketball team practice for the 2011-2012 season.

Ross was also on his way to Memphis to open up a chain of Wingstop restaurants. "It's time for us to make it happen in Memphis. With Wingstop, we are bringing in the food I like and adding jobs to the community. It's a double win," he released in an early statement.

God Forgives, I Don't, Ross' fifth album is scheduled for a Dec. 13 release.
