Rihanna, 26, wore head-to-toe black skinny jeans and a blouse with ¾ length bell sleeves paired with point-toe heels. The Coldplay singer, 37, kept is casual in jeans and a shirt.

"They were leaning in to each other, laughing and being flirty," a photographer told X17online.com.

"Rihanna kept pushing her hair out of her face and Chris appeared to be almost whispering in her ear," the onlooker explained.

The pair reportedly arrived separately at the restaurant at around 9 p.m. and dined for two hours before calling it a night.

In 2012 they collaborated on the song "Princess of China," which is featured on Coldplay's fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto. While it is unclear what they discussed during dinner, some fans are speculating whether a new project is in the works.

"They looked cute together - maybe they're working on a new project; maybe they're trying to make certain people jealous or maybe they're actually dating," the source speculated adding "I was surprised to see them together!"

Last month Rihanna reportedly split from her rumored boyfriend Drake after a few months of casual dating. While they never publicly acknowledged a relationship, they were photographed holding hands on various dates earlier this year which fueled romance rumors.

In March Martin announced his separation from Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow. The estranged couple wed in 2003 one year after meeting at a Coldplay concert and while they appeared to be happily married throughout their 10 years together, they were dealing with marital woes behind closed doors.

Paltrow and Martin, who hails from England, explained their decision to part ways in a joint statement posted on the actress' Goop lifestyle blog.

"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," read the statement.

"We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate," it went on before closing with "Love, Gwyneth & Chris."
