'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story': New Rumors on Darth Vader, New Characters, and Plot

Those looking for more bits and pieces about the upcoming "Star Wars" anthology film, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," have something new to chew on. New reports shed a little more light on the characters and plot of the movie, especially on Darth Vader.

Darth Vader has a "larger role" complete with action sequences

Previous rumors say the character will certainly appear in "Rogue One." JoBlo confirms this and adds the character will have a "larger role than originally thought." Just how big of a role that could be, the publication isn't sure.

Another site, MakingStarWars.net, also has a new scoop on Darth Vader. The publication's sources reveal that stunt suits for Darth Vader have been built, indicating the character will have action sequences in the film. The action sequences involve "a smoky battlefield" and, based on artwork, feature "more [violence] than what we've seen Darth Vader do on a screen."

Death Troopers

Stormtroopers will be wearing all-black costumes in the film. JoBlo's sources say they are often referred to as "Death Troopers."

A new character name

Lucasfilm and Disney have previously confirmed the actors starring in "Rogue One." However, what characters they will play or their characters' names aren't known. JoBlo appears to have a piece of the puzzle. According to the publication, a key player in the movie will be named "Cashen" (could have a different spelling).

New Droid

Like "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," the upcoming film is said to feature a brand-new droid who will be a "scene stealer." According to JoBlo, this new droid originally serves the Empire, but the rebel alliance will reprogram it to serve their purposes. The droid is described as having two legs, long arms, and a dark grey or black color.

In addition to the new droid, the publication claims Tie Fighters will feature a new design and AT-ATs are sure to make an appearance in the movie.

These new information haven't been confirmed, so take them with a grain of salt.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will hit theaters on Dec. 16.
