Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Phablet Will Rival the Galaxy Note 3

Whenever there's speculation that Samsung is about to release a new device, tech fans all over the world go on full alert for any news about the Korean company's latest gizmo. Now, there are rumors that Samsung is about to launch the Galaxy Grand 3, said to be a phablet which could rival the company's Galaxy Note 3.

The handset is said to keep the same 5.25-inch 720p display that's found on its predecessor, the Grand 2. The device will be powered by a quad core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 CPU with 1.5GB of RAM on board. It's expected to come with 16GB internal storage which will be expandable through a microSD card up to 128GB and run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

One of the biggest improvements that the Grand 3 is expected to have is with the cameras on the phone. While the Grand 2 has an 8MP camera at the back and a 1.9MP snapper up front, the Grand 3 will reportedly have a 5MP front facing camera—sure to please selfie snappers everywhere—and a new and improved 13MP camera at the back.

The Grand 3 is said to retain the same design elements as its predecessor, but it is rumored to be thinner and lighter than the Grand 2. The Grand 2 measures 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9mm and weighs 163 grams, while the Grand 3 will reportedly measure 146 x 74.8 x 7.95 and weigh 140 grams.

Aside from the standard black and white models, the phone is expected to come in a variety of colors. The Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 is rumored to be unveiled by the end of January.
