First of all Three recommends users to make sure the battery of the phone is fully charged. Customers may also have to install the OS via PC or Mac using the Samsung Kies software.

The phone will automatically let the user know if there is a new update and they can then download and install the software update to their phones, following the steps:

1. On the homescreen, tap Apps
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap About phone
4. Tap Software updates
5. Tap Update
6. Tap Confirm after agreeing with the terms and conditions
7. Tap Ok after you have checked your data allowance.

Three notes that checking and downloading software updates will use data included in the user's plan. Therefore, in case the phone has a data limit, the user must check My3 account to make sure they have data left. Then to update the software users must tap Install now and then tap OK.

Jelly Bean Update will bring new features to Samsung's Touch Wiz interface, including a smoother UI, Google Now, Offline voice-typing support, expandable notifications, better settings organization and much more.
