Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Rumors, Specs, Release Date: Leaked Image of Upcoming Android Slate Surfaces

Samsung has not been as aggressive in the tablet niche as in previous years. This year in particular, the Korean manufacturer has only announced very few Android tablets, which have hit only a few markets.

However, as for its upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, Samsung could be returning to its roots with a slightly high-end device.

According to a recent report from GSM Arena, emerging leaker @OnLeaks has leaked an alleged press image of the unannounced device.

In the leaked image, the alleged Galaxy Tab S2 will feature a design similar to that of the current Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S6.

Furthermore, the image shows that the device will feature mobile connectivity as showcased by the SIM card slot, sitting beside the microSD card slot.

The device looks sleek and stylish in white, though it should be expected that Samsung would launch the device in a other color versions as well.

Based on previous rumors, the Galaxy Tab S2 boasts a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2048 x 1536 resolution similar to that of the recent Apple iPads, as well as the Nexus 9 from Google and HTC.

Other specs include Samsung's Exynos-based chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 32GB built-in memory, and an 8MP/2MP camera combination.

While of these specs are already expected to come from Samsung, one notable rumored feature is the device's 6.1mm body, which is claimed to be thinner than the waistline of the iPad Air 2.
