'Scandal' Season 5 Episode 8 Spoilers: Mellie Threatens Liv With The Truth; White House Visitor Carries Information

ABC's hit political drama TV series "Scandal" Season 5 returns this week with yet another intense and suspenseful episode that is expected to see Liv's world on the verge of a meltdown with all her secrets about to be revealed.

The teaser trailer for the upcoming episode titled "Rasputin" shows Mellie giving the crisis manager an ominous threat that could destroy the latter's relationship with President Fitz.

"I'm gonna tell Fitz what we did…what you did," the former First Lady said on the phone.

Fans may remember how Liv had done the impossible to prevent her lover, the POTUS, from being impeached from his office. With Mellie's aid, Rowan Pope managed to get out of prison. Needless to say, this one little secret will go back to bite them but Mellie is determined she won't be on the losing end of the drastic fallout.

In fact, it seems like Fitz had already got wind of the information as what the video further hinted. It can be seen that Liv is being confined in what appears to be a withholding cell. The president, with his security detail by his side, enters the room and looms over his lover. With a stern expression on his knowing face, Fitz asked a teary-eyed Liv to tell him that everything he heard isn't true. Is this the end of the road for them?

Within her, Liv knows that if the truth comes out, they're done.

"When I tell him, we're done," Liv confided to someone in a video. "I'm not ready to be done."

Adding more pressure to the situation is the details mentioned over at The Futon Critic. According to the synopsis, a guest of the White House shares "powerful intel." This happens in the midst of Fitz trying to negotiate a "historic peace deal."

Meanwhile, Jake enlists Huck to get closer to his target while Cyrus decides to take charge when he realizes that he's been kicked out of the inner circle.

"Scandal" Season 5 airs Thursdays, at 9 p.m. on ABC.
