Selena Gomez Convinced Justin Bieber is 'The One,' Not Interested in Austin Mahone?
Selena Gomez is reportedly convinced that Justin Bieber is "the one," following reports claiming the pair is again back together.
In early July the former Disney star, 21, is believed to have given Bieber, 19, an ultimatum requiring him to straighten out his behavior in order to revive their relationship. The pop star, who allegedly agreed to change his ways, has been embroiled in several scandals in recent months, however Gomez is rumored to have taken him back.
"She's very stubborn when it comes to Justin," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "She's got this idea that he's 'The One' for her and that they'll live happily ever after."
Friends of the on-and-off couple, including singer Taylor Swift, have reportedly been objecting to a reconciliation and in June the country singer reportedly introduced Gomez to singer Austin Mahone in a bid to help her move on from Bieber.
"Taylor loves Austin. She thinks he's adorable and knows that Justin is threatened by him. Getting him to hang out with Selena was her idea," a source said.
"It's no secret she's not a fan of Justin anymore, so it seems pretty obvious why she'd want to push Austin and Selena together. Plus, Austin is the nicest guy," the insider continued. "He's so genuine — what you see is what you get. He doesn't party, he's humble and he's not taking any of this for granted."
Despite Swift's efforts Gomez reportedly cannot let Bieber go and sources claim both she and the pop star are simply staying true to their hearts.
"She's not ready to let go, and who knows, she could be right," the source said.
In January the pair, who began dating in 2011, reportedly ended their relationship after a fight in Mexico. Since then they have reportedly reconciled and again split up on multiple occasions and a source close to the couple previously explained their bizarre relationship dynamic.
"They can't live with each other, they can't live without each other," the source explained previously.
In April the Hollywood stars split after a series of relationship woes however Bieber reportedly won Gomez back on July 4. The pair shared an intimate photograph of themselves celebrating Independence, which fueled reports of a reconciliation.
"Selena is keeping her heart from being broken so she is definitely looking at this as a trial period in their relationship," a source previously said about Gomez reconciling with Bieber.
"She has told him that if he f---- with her emotions too much, she will drop him," the source explained.
While they are said to be happy and currently in a good place in their relationship, fans worry that ongoing trust issues could again tear them apart.
"The problem in the first place is that Selena was a little bit of a jealous girlfriend and Justin wasn't really taking her feelings into regard," a source close to the stars previously told Radar Online.
"Justin doesn't see texting other girls as cheating, but he's promised Selena he'll stop if she takes him back," the source added.
