'Sex and the City 3' Latest News: Kim Cattrall Never Considered Her Co-Stars as Friends, Suggests Recasting Samantha Jones

There is already a lot of drama surrounding "Sex and the City 3." Now, Kim Cattrall has revealed that she never considered her co-stars as friends.

According to PEOPLE, Cattrall made an appearance on ITV's "Piers Morgan's Life Stories" and explained that she only had professional relationships with her co-stars.

"We've never been friends," the actress said. "We've been colleagues and in some way, it's a very healthy place to be."

As avid fans know by now, "Sex and the City 3" will not be pushing through, and there have been rumors going around that it is due to Cattrall. It was previously reported that film was apparently axed because Cattrall made "outrageous" demands that the studio simply could not fulfill.

Cattrall, who is known for her role as Samantha Jones, quashed the rumors via social media. However, some insiders maintain that the 61-year-old actress really caused the film to crash and burn. One source even told PEOPLE that some of her demands had "already been quoted" and that she "is the one who creates the drama." Cattrall denied the rumors again while speaking to Morgan.

"I never asked for any money," she said. "I never asked for any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous."

"American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy previously suggested recasting the part of Samantha, and it looks like Cattrall agrees. She told Morgan on his show that she loved playing the role all these years, but it is time to move on.

"It's a great part. I played it past the finish line and then some, and I loved it. Another actress should play it — maybe they could make it an African-American Samantha Jones or a Hispanic Samantha Jones," she said, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Sex and the City 3" would have been the third movie in the franchise following 2008's "Sex and the City" and 2010's "Sex and the City 2." The series ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004 on HBO.
