'Shades of Blue' Season 2 Episode 4: Harlee Delves Into the Deeper Lairs of Crime

In the world of crime, nothing is ever as simple as it seems. This is the premise of "Shades of Blue" as the upcoming episode teases a deeper involvement with big personalities and a connection that spans closer to people around Harlee (Jennifer Lopez).

The promotional clip for episode 4 shows Julia Ayres (Anna Gunn) that the level of politics calls for bigger consequences, making her a big suspect in having active business with the Mafia. While Stahl (Warren Kole) is determined to put her behind bars, Harlee doesn't want to be harsh and instead tries to conduct an investigation of her own.

The scary thing though is that Wozniak (Ray Liotta) may be instrumental in sweeping things under the rag as proof of his loyalty to Ayres. During an interrogation, he deliberately pushes too hard to the point of killing the man whom he and Harlee were trying to extract information from. Perhaps to silence him, he resorts to ending him instead.

If anything, the upcoming episode is shaping up to be filled with unexpected plot twists, and Harlee will have to be extra careful. It's not just a big person she is bumping into, rather a large network of people doing things underground, and someone may be onto them.

In other related news, "Shades of Blue" has been renewed for a third season despite not getting halfway yet through the current season, The Slanted has learned. This was confirmed by NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke during an announcement.

"We're so hugely appreciative of everything Jennifer and Ray do, and know it is due to their dedication, as well as the hard work of our incredible cast and producers, that 'Shades of Blue' has so clearly and compellingly earned a third-season renewal," Salke explained. "This show continues to mine powerful stories that always leave us hungry for more."

This being said, the show continues to gain momentum. "Shades of Blue" season 2 episode 4 airs on March 26, 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
