'Shameless' Season 8: The Gallaghers to Hold Another Funeral?

The Gallaghers may be arranging another funeral for a family member in the new season of "Shameless."

According to Inquisitr, there is a chance that Frank (William H. Macy) will end up dead in the upcoming installment. The last season saw him and the kids burying Monica (Chloe Webb). She died due to brain damage. She knew she had very little time left and perhaps it was the reason why she chose to come home and win back her estranged husband and children.

Fiona (Emmy Rossum) and the other kids stuck together during the funeral. No matter how much they hated their mother when she was alive, they still paid their last respects to her. Frank was particularly morose that time, and he told the kids he loved Monica a lot.

After the funeral, the Gallaghers expressed what they wanted to do in the future. Fiona will be busy with her real estate business, while Lip (Jeremy Allen White) will continue his college education. Debbie (Emma Kenney) will start her welding classes, while Ian (Cameron Monaghan) settles back into his work. After reuniting with Trevor (Elliot Fletcher), he will have a difficult time trying to analyze if he did the right thing by letting go of Mickey (Noel Fisher).

With most of the kids determined to start anew, Frank is left at a crossroads. Monica is already dead. Although he may grieve over her for quite a while, the time will come that he will forget about her and dive back to his world.

For the Gallagher children to succeed in making a life for themselves, the report claims that they must ditch Frank. As long as he is alive, he will continue to pull them back with him. If Frank is dead, Fiona and the others can move on and forget their dark past. Spoilers predict that he will never change. Frank's destructive personality will always be his downfall.

"Shameless" is expected to return to Showtime in 2017.
