Shanna Moakler: Hawk Ate My Dog!

A former playboy model and reality television star is mourning the loss of her small dog after it was attacked and taken by a hawk while they were in their backyard.

Shanna Moakler, former Playboy Playmate and season three Dancing with the Stars contestant, expressed her grief the best way she knew how by posting a heartfelt message to her personal Twitter account.

"An eagle attacked my 2 chi's today, my girl pup is at the vet, my boy is missing, between my cat and my pups, I'm about to ******* kill things," Moakler posted on Twitter.

Moakler explained that in her neighborhood there is a lot of wildlife encounters.

"I live in a neighborhood where coyotes and hawks are prevalent…we took the dogs outside to go to the bathroom and they were attacked by a hawk," she told the HollyScoop.com.

She continued: "My one puppy may have lost an eye, we won't know for a couple weeks and the bird flew off with my other puppy. It was like out of a movie."

Unfortunately, this is not the first incident that Shanna has lost a pet to the local wildlife.

"I'm devastated as I have lost two animals in the matter of a month from coyotes and hawks. I had even installed coyote fences."

During this traumatic event in her life she was still able to offer sound advice to fellow pet owners.

"I just hope people with small dogs will start taking precautions with their pets outside and try to protect them from predators. I hope people just remember not to take things for granted as you never know when they can be gone, both people and fur babies," she said.

The local wildlife seems to have a taste for celebrities' dogs. In 2009, Jessica Simpson lost her beloved Malti-poo Daisy to a coyote when it picked up the pooch right in front of the singer.
