Simon Cowell Eyes Beyonce as 'X-Factor' Judge

Beyonce Knowles is among a number of Hollywood stars who have been tipped as upcoming "X-Factor" replacement judges.

On Wednesday The Christian Post broke the news that "X-Factor" judges, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, and host Steve Jones had been axed by the show's producer Simon Cowell due to failed ratings.

In a bid to revamp the show, Cowell is allegedly courting a series of renowned A-listers, including singers Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Black Eyed Peas' singer Fergie, according to Fox News.

Cowell has been less than impressed with ratings for U.S. version of "X-Factor" after it failed to match that of competing show American Idol, and sources reveal that he is implementing the drastic changes in a bid to boost viewership.

"I had a big bottom lip at the end of last year. It was a tough year, but it wasn't a horrible year. I just realize you have to do things better and not feel sorry for yourself," Cowell told BBC, hinting that change was inevitable.

Cowell has offered 30-year-old Beyonce a hefty amount of money to sign on as a new judge in a bid to boost ratings, according to sources.

Cowell would be pleased if Mariah signed on, although he believes that new mom Beyonce could draw in a wider audience particularly because Mariah's singing career has been quiet in recent years, according to MediaTakeOut.com.

Other stars that are rumored to be on Cowell's list for prospective judges include singers Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj, and fashion designer Victoria Beckham.

Celebrity blogger PerezHilton sent an open letter in video format to Cowell, explaining why he would be an ideal X-Factor judge.

"I have this little website called perezhilton.com, I've also got 4.5 million followers on Twitter and millions more that check out my websites daily," Hilton boasted.

"Most importantly I'm a huge music lover, and I bring with me a lot of experience and expertise in the world of music," he added.

Hilton also promised to bring his renowned charisma and flamboyance to the talent show, which he is confident could increase viewers.

"I like to keep it real. I think that X-Factor U.S. could totally work with three guys on the panel and a female judge as well ... although I could be both!" Hilton said.

It is unclear when Cowell will finalize the show's new judges.
