Southern Gospel's Best Awarded at Harmony Honors

The Third Annual Harmony Honors were presented last week, giving awards to many of Southern Gospel Music’s greatest singers.

Among all the nominees, the Booth Brothers cleaned up the most, pulling in three top honors including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year ("He Saw It All") and Male Vocalist of the Year (Ronnie Booth).

The Harmony Honors, which are presented by the Southern Gospel Music Guild (SGMG), were created “to honor those in the industry, by the industry, for their accomplishments over the past year.”

Another anticipated honor, Album of the Year, was actually a tie between two groups. The Perrys with Come Thirsty and the Gaither Vocal Band with Give It Away both shared the award.

Other prize winners included Karen Peck Gooch for Female Vocalist of the Year, the Collingsworth Family for New Artist of the Year, and the Hoppers received the Impact Honor.

The event was held last Tuesday at the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tenn., around 40 miles west of Nashville.
