'Star Wars Rebels' Season 2 – Ahsoka, Kanan and Ezra confront Darth Vader
The first episode of "Star Wars Rebels" Season 2 will introduce a lot of characters, new and old from the earlier Clone Wars. It's title is "The Lost Commanders" and will update viewers on what's happening with Ahsoka, Ezra and Kanan.
The official synopsis for the first episode goes, "Ahsoka gives the Ghost crew a Tactical Droid head and tells them to go to the Cello system to find her 'mysterious ally'. When they arrive there, Kanan finds out that Ahsoka's 'allies' are clones, which he dislikes because of Order 66. Eventually, Kanan trusts them until they use Zeb to 'hunt' for Joopers, which Ezra figures out that Zeb is the bait for Joopers."
Fans will be happy to know that Ahsoka will play a prominent role in the upcoming season.
Ashley Eckstein, who voices Ahsoka, teases her return to Star Wars and talked about what viewers can expect in Season 2. She was happy that Ahsoka would be back in the "Star Wars Rebels" Season 2. She told Tech Times, "I always felt that Ahsoka did not have to die and I hoped that [showrunner] Dave Filoni and his amazing writing staff would find a way to keep her alive — I just wasn't sure how they were going to do it! When Dave told me the finale arc, it made so much sense and I was overjoyed!"
But for Ahsoka, Season 2 is not a joyous ride. Ahsoka was mightily disappointed in the June premiere when she ound out that her mentor, Anakin Skywalker, had gone over to the dark side. When Ahsoka meets Darth Vader, they will face-off in a padawan-apprentice confrontation.
Kanan, Ezra and his team are in such a situation that they have to work with the Clones whom they dislike because of the outcome of Order 66. Working together changes their outlook and the Ghost team begins to trust the Clones.
Even though the team will function as one unit, each character will have personal battles that they will fight. When Zeb discovers what happened to his people, he will go after the enemies on his own. He will land in trouble when he goes hunting for the Joopers.
The season will explore Sabine's relationship with the Mandalorians and Hera will confront her father. Meanwhile, Ezra will push forward with his Jedi training. Viewers will also find out more about his ancestry. There is a new trailer that fans can watch which has Ezra pitted against Darth Vader himself. Ezra is shown in a precarious position and Darth Vader booms at him, "Your master has deceived you into believing you can become a Jedi!"
Viewers are in for lots of confrontations and adventures in the coming season of "Star Wars Rebels" which returns this October.
