Struggling Waitress Receives $1,075 Tip from Family 'Blessed by Jesus' (VIDEO)

A Knoxville, Tennessee waitress received a huge surprise while working a normal shift. A regular couple left her a $1,075 tip on a $29.30 bill and stated that they were blessed by her, that Jesus led them to her. Khadijah Muhammad, the waitress, gives full credit to God for helping her when she needed it the most.

"It says, 'Jesus blessed us and we were led to give it to you. God Bless!'" the family wrote on the back of their bill. "What I'm thinking now is I believe it," Muhammad told WBIR News. "I just want to thank them. Thank them so much, because I'm humbled. I'm grateful. I do believe that God led you to me at this time in my life."

Muhammad explained that her mother suffered a heart attack, which led her to miss shifts at the restaurant. When she returned to her own home, she discovered a notice stating that her electricity would be turned off if she did not pay her past-due bill by January 23.

"It said, 'This is your second and final notice of past due bill to prevent service disconnection.' I was thinking I'm really going to need a miracle to pay my bills this month," Muhammad said. That miracle came in the form of a regular, everyday family. Of course, Muhammad did not realize it at the time and worked as normal, but at the end of the family's meal, she was left shaken when she saw that the receipt was turned upside down.

"Normally as a server, when a receipt is turned upside down it means you did not get a good tip or any tip," she explained. "Or people will leave a nasty note about how you messed something up with their service. I remember thinking, 'I wonder what I did wrong.' Then I picked it up and I was just in shock. I just remember seeing a comma after the one and knew it wasn't $10. And I was like, 'Oh, my God!' And I just lost my balance and I was like, 'Does this say a thousand dollars?' I could not believe it."

Now Muhammad has her bills paid and is able to focus on her mother and breathe a little easier.

"I hope and pray that somebody I'm able to do this for somebody," Muhammad said. "And at the first opportunity I will do it."
