'Teen Wolf' Season 5 Cast News: Gilles Marini, Lachlan Buchanan Join Show As Argent Ancestors

An upcoming episode of MTV's hit supernatural drama TV series "Teen Wolf" Season 5 is about to introduce more of the Argent family members and a casting report just confirmed two new actors joining the fray.

A report from TVLine said that "Switched at Birth" star Gilles Marini and "The Young and the Restless" actor Lachlan Buchanan have signed on to guest-star in a flashback-heavy episode slated to air next month.

As detailed by the media outlet, Marini will portray the part of Sebastien, a French war veteran returning to his home at the countryside of Gevaudan. He discovers that a "vicious beast" has been tormenting the people he loves, including his young sister.

"When Gilles was on set, he was excited to do the story," shared executive producer Jeff Davis about the 39-year-old. "He's French, and for his family, the Beast of Gévaudan was their Boogeyman. They would all tell stories about the Beast, so it was a very familiar character to him."

In addition, Buchanan will take on the role of Henri, a "wise but guarded" Argent who lives on his own in a remote forest grove. He happens to know "quite a bit about the supernatural world."

The new segment will reportedly take viewers back to an 18th century France of which the mid-season's big baddie, The Beast of Gevaudan, is said to have originated.

Davis, this time in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, teased that fans might get to learn more about the vicious creature.

"There's plenty of research and literature out there about the myth of The Beast and what it actually was," Davis told EW. "We delve into that and we try to tell the true story, and our Argents intersect with that."

Cast member Crystal Reed will also reportedly return to the show to portray Marie-Jeanne Valet, a peasant girl who was able to survive an attack by the beast.

"Teen Wolf" Season 5 airs Tuesdays, at 9 p.m. on MTV.
