'The Blacklist: Redemption' Season 1 Episode 2: Scottie Orders Tom to Save a Friend

Scottie (Famke Janssen) will move heaven and earth to rescue an old friend in the upcoming episode of "The Blacklist: Redemption."

In the episode titled "Kevin Jensen," the promo reveals that Scottie will send Team Halcyon on an overseas mission. A friend of hers is in grave danger and she needs the squad to bring him back to the United States. The man is being accused of espionage and he will be executed soon by the government of the foreign country. Scottie knows that the task is very dangerous as she specifically warns the others that they will be risking their lives if they choose to commit.

Tom (Ryan Eggold), Matias (Edi Gathegi) and the others must have disregarded her warning since they are next shown trading bullets with the enemy. Tom is in charge of tracking down Scottie's friend and getting him out of his prison. As expected, the mission will not be a walk in the park for the Halcyon team. The mercenaries will not let them escape their turf alive. Tom is shown being hunted by a number of soldiers as he flees from the scene with the target.

Meanwhile, Scottie still has no idea that Tom is the son she has been looking for. In the clip, she speaks to him about the little boy that she lost many years ago. According to Scottie, she will find a way to locate her child, no matter what it takes.

Series creator Jon Bokenkamp recently talked about Famke's character in the series. According to him, the actress gives justice to Scottie's damaged persona. He also teased that Scottie's obliviousness to Tom's true identity will not last long.

"Famke's very good as this incredibly flawed — as she likes to say — broken character, whose loss of her son when he was 4 has really decimated her inner emotional life. [It's] a character who's open about her fallibilities, at peace with talking about what she's afraid of. That, I think, is an incredibly compelling character — [one] who leads with her insecurities, and yet is very powerful," Bokenkamp said, according to Yahoo! TV

"The Blacklist: Redemption" season 1 episode 2 will air Thursday, March 2, at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
