The Dark Knight: Batman Joins Wall Street

Batman comes to Manhattan when the new movie, "The Dark Knight Rises," begins filming on Wall Street Friday.

The filming will reportedly feature the "largest fight scene ever."

According to sources, the fight scene includes 1000 extras as the fictional Gotham City fights to take the streets back from villain, Bane.

Parking signs are currently not posted around the city for the movies' working title "Magnus Rex.”

Recently, Movie Master posted an article about a man who wrote on Facebook. The man was to be an extra for the new film, and he claimed to be playing a Gotham SWAT officer in part of the "largest fight scene ever."

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20 and stars Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as commissioner Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, and Anne Hathaway as Seina Kyle.

Director Christopher Nolan is widely known as reviving the Batman franchise after George Clooney's disastrous rendition of the character in 1997’s "Batman & Robin.”

Nolan's 2005 release, "Batman Begins," put the superhero back on the map, where the character and story were much darker compared to the cartoon-like worlds of previous movies.

"Batman Begins" grossed $370 million worldwide, including $48 million in its opening weekend.

"The Dark Knight," released in 2008, was even darker, especially due to the character Joker, played by Heath Ledger, who died of a sleeping pill overdose after completing the movie.

“The Dark Knight” was nominated for eight Academy awards and won two of them: "Best Sound Editing" and "Best Supporting Actor”.

"The Dark Knight" is the most successful superhero movie, and one of the most successful films of all time.

Filming for "The Dark Knight Rises" will take place on West 58th Street between 7th and 5th Ave.
