'The Elder Scrolls 6' Release Date and News: TES6 Not Coming Anytime Soon? Todd Howard, Pete Hines Explain Delay

Bethesda Is Churning Out Too Many Projects to Focus on "The Elder Scrolls 6"

It seems "The Elder Scrolls 6" from Bethesda is not coming anytime soon.

"The Elder Scrolls" fans may have to wait for a long time, a few years possibly, before Bethesda releases "Elder Scrolls 6." In fact, the gaming company has not worked on it at all. This also means that there will be no TES6 in Gamescom 2016 in Germany despite the rumors.

Bethesda Swamped with Other Projects
The reason "The Elder Scrolls 6" has not been worked on is because Bethesda is busy with other gaming projects. According to Crossmap, the game developers are working on additional content for "Fallout 4." Furthermore, there are numerous titles that may be in queue before "The Elder Scrolls 6" will be in development.

This fact was confirmed by Bethesda Softworks VP of PR and Marketing Pete Hines. He announced on Twitter that they are busy with another project but did not specify what title they are currently developing.

'The Elder Scrolls 6' Plot, Storyline, Rumors
IGN pointed out that Bethesda game director Todd Howard has announced that they have an idea of what the game's concept will be. He told the outlet that while he can explain what Bethesda intends "The Elder Scrolls 6" to be, he has to be careful of what he lets out so as not to set the expectations of the fans, especially regarding the release date. It may take a few years because Bethesda is working on two more projects, and "Elder Scrolls 6" may be the last.

He added that it is their intention to make "The Elder Scrolls 6" something worthy for their fans, and the playability needs to be just right, and to do that, they will need to take time to avoid rushing.

'The Elder Scrolls 6' Release Date
However, it may take a bit of time as "The Elder Scrolls 6" will need time and new technology to be created and the budget is not available yet, Neurogadget reported. "The Elder Scrolls 6" might be announced when the game is nearly ready as Howard said that he preferred the game announcement and release to be near instead of releasing a teaser for this year and the game launching for next year.

Are you disappointed that "The Elder Scrolls" won't be developed yet or won't surface until about a few years from now? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
