'The Fosters' Cast News, Update: Season 3B Will See A New Face of Jesus

The Season 2 finale of ABC Family's hit TV drama series "The Fosters" reveals the departure of Jake T. Austin's Jesus. The actor has already confirmed that he will be leaving the show. This left fans wondering if the scripted program would still feature the character somewhere this season. As it turns out, it will.

A recent casting update from TV Line has dropped the news that the network has already recast the role of Mariana's (Cierra Ramirez) twin brother.

In an announcement made earlier this week, it was found out that "Austin & Ally" star Noah Centineo will be taking on the part of Jesus (as a series regular) starting this second half of the Season 3. The said installment is slated to premiere this 2016.

The young actor's screen credits include a handful of guest appearances on "See Dad Run," "Newsreaders," "Jessie," and "Shake It Up!" Centineo is also best known for his part in Disney Channel's original movie titled "How to Build a Better Boy."

Austin previously went to his social media to announce his departure following Season 2's finale which saw Jesus involved in a car accident.

During the premiere of the current season, it was found out that the character didn't die in the cliffhanger. Instead, he was sent off to a boarding school.

"I'm honored to have been a part of such a groundbreaking series, but I personally want to let you know that my time on the show has come to an end. Thank you for letting me be a part of your family, it's been a pleasure. –JTA" Austin's Twitter post reads.

For the meantime, "The Fosters" Season 3 is currently airing Monday nights at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
