'The Orville' Season 1 Episode 4 Spoilers: Massive Collision to Take Place?

After an eventful third episode that saw a discussion on gender politics, the upcoming episode titled "If the Stars Should Appear" will shift gears as the protagonists will get up close a possible collision in outer space.

According to Episode 4's official guide, the crew will cross paths with another vessel that is in peril. "Ed and the Orville crew encounter a massive vessel adrift in space, which is in danger of colliding with a star," read the episode guide posted by TV Guide.

"While some of the crew set out to help the ship's inhabitants, Bortus, Gordon, and John stay behind and fend off a Krill attack on another Union ship," the description continued. Moreover, the show also released a trailer showing how the vessel looks like. It has the size of an average planet, which means a collision with a star will likely result in a massive explosion.

Alara (Halston Sage), Claire (Penny Johnson Jerald), and Ed (Seth MacFarlane), Kelly (Adrianne Palicki) leave the Orville to extend assistance to the people from the vessel. Kelly, however, will apparently be separated from the group and will become a hostage of Hamelac (Robert Knepper), a new character in the show.

In another promotional trailer, more details on Kelly's abduction are revealed. While tied to a chair, she will be forced by Hamelac to spill the beans concerning the whereabouts of the rest of the team. She is commended by Hamelac for her resiliency where she replies "I've been through a divorce. This is nothing."

Meanwhile, things will also heat up inside the Orville, as Gordon (Scott Grimes), Bortus (Peter Macon) and John (J. Lee) attempt to quell another Krill attack. The Krills enter the picture once again, after they fell in the hands of the Orville crew in their attempt to steal the time-accelerating device in Episode 1, reported the International Business Times.

"The Orville" season 1 episode 4 airs on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
