'The Strain' season 2 episode 9 spoilers and episode 8 recap: Is the vampire apocalypse coming?

In the upcoming episode of "The Strain" titled "The Battle for Red Hook," the synopsis reads Justine (Samantha Mathis) finds herself going to extremesto thwart a surprise invasion. Eph (Corey Stall) and Setrakian (David Bradley) confront an old foe, while Nora (Mia Maestro) and Fet (Kevin Durand) embark on an important mission.

In the promo for the next episode, it seems like an invasion will happen as the vampires figure out a way to fight back, thus starting a vampire apocalypse. In the meantime, the humans continue to figure out a way to stop the virus from spreading as hope begins to fade.

The previous episode began with Eichorst (Richard Samuel) as he worked on a few wig selections for Kelly (Natalie Brown) who had been released for a short while so that she could find her son. He was making her look more human by putting makeup and contacts on her. Meanwhile, Eph was talking to Fet as they catch each other up. Fet told Eph that he is still looking for the book with Abe, while Eph firmly believed that his best chance to get David Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) is with a sniper. Eph asked Fet if he knew a guy and Fet told him to see a man named Wu in a boat repair shop.

Palmer managed to find the book and he needs to visit the Cardinal with Eichorst in order to get it. The Cardinal had changed the price of the coveted book. It will cost Palmer $500,000 in gold bars on the spot. Abe showed up right after Palmer left and the Cardinal told him that it would cost $750,000 in gold bars. The Cardinal also told Abe that there are many other parties interested in the book.

Kelly found Zack with his dad, Eph, as they saved the life of Wu who had been shot by an unknown man in a small grocery store. Kelly attacked Eph as Zack yelled at her to stop. Eph tried to gun down Kelly, but one of her feelers got in the way and she escaped.
