'The Young and the Restless' Cast News and Spoilers: Adam Newman To Return Soon

"The Young and the Restless" fans are anxiously awaiting to see the replacement actor for Michael Muhney, and the wait could be over soon.

News of a replacement actor for Muhney, who portrayed Adam Newman, arrived after CBS issued a suspicious casting call for a wealthy character described as sexy and vibrant. However, the reason Adam has not returned to "Y&R" is because executive producer Jill Farren Phelps had not yet found an appropriate actor for the role yet.

Fortunately, spoilers for this week's "Y&R" indicate that the new actor will make his debut as Adam in "the next few weeks," according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry. Adam has not appeared on the soap opera since the car accident scene in late January, and fans have been wondering about his character's mysterious death ever since.

After Chelsea was denied access to view the deceased body, viewers began to believe that Adam is alive. Last week, it was confirmed that Adam fake his own death with help from an unknown doctor who issued a false autopsy. Now it is only a matter of time until the audience will know the truth.

Reports in the past indicated that "Y&R" producers were searching for the "best actor" who the "audience will grow to love" since Adam will become "central to the show," according to RadarOnline. Muhney's abrupt exit had set the producers back on the show, and they are now seeking a very specific replacement in an attempt to avoid a dramatic departure from happening again.

"If there is even a hint of diva behavior or drama, the role won't go to that person, period," an insider at Radar revealed. "Everyone wants to move on from that disaster."
