After his Culver's Restaurant in Platteville, Wis. burned down on Nov. 16, 2013, owner Bruce Kroll was determined to rebuild it. But his first priority wasn't his business, it was the 40 people who worked for him.

So when the insurance money ended after 60 days, he kept his employees on the payroll for SIX MONTHS to the tune of $144,000 out of his own pocket.

Six months to the day after the fire, the Culver's reopened on June 16.
