Tim Tebow Headed For Pro Bowl? Fans Vote Him In

Tim Tebow may not have the best passing game in the NFL, but fans have voted for him to participate in the 2012 season Pro Bowl.

Fans comprise one third of the vote for players to take part in the pro bowl, the NFL all-star game that will take place on Jan. 9. Although players and coaches are currently placing their votes, which will be announced Dec. 27, Tebow is in the top running for one of three quarterbacks that will be selected from the AFC conference.

Despite criticism about his passing, fans selected Tebow as their third pick for AFC quarterback with votes trailing behind Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger.

Mike McCoy, Broncos’ offensive coordinator, said he thought Tebow deserved it and received the honor with the help of his teammates.

“I think he deserves it," offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said after practice today. "He's done a nice job since he stepped in. But when a quarterback gets an honor like that, you also have to look at the players around him. The 10 other players on the field every down with him, they deserve a lot of credit for his success."

Although Tebow scored high with fans in his conference, fans’ votes did not place Tebow in the top ten players between both conferences within the league.

Greenbay Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers received the most fan votes, with 1,581,982 people voting for him in favor of second place fan-favorite QB Tom Brady. New Orleans QB Drew Brees, Detroit Lions’ WR Calvin Johnson, Patriots’ wideout Wes Welker, Philadelphia Eagles’ RB LeSean McCoy, Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski, Pittsburgh Steelers’ QB Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers WR Mike Wallace and Minnesota Vikings’ RB Adrian Peterson all received top fan votes to participate in the all-star game.

The battle between the AFC and NFC conferences will take place in Hawaii at the Aloha Stadium on Jan, 29.
