Heisman Trophy-winning athlete Tim Tebow has endured many professional disappointments with some NFL dreams yet to be realized, but he refuses to be defeated and is setting out to encourage others in his new book, "Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life's Storms."

Set for an October release, Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life's Storms, will reveal some of the disappointments that resulted from the 28-year-olds short lived NFL career.

"First, he was a beloved college football champion, media sensation, and best-selling author drafted in the first round of the 2010 draft. Then he had a miracle playoff run with the Denver Broncos before being traded to the New York Jets," a description of the book on the Penguin Random House website states. "After one season he was cut by New York, next signed by the New England Patriots, then let go after training camp. Tebow has achieved big victories and plunged the depths of failure, all while holding firm to his faith."

The description goes on to reveal how Tebow plans to get personal about some of the most challenging moments in his life.

"In Shaken he explains why neither the highs nor the lows of his life can define him — and he reveals how you, too, can find an unshakable identity and purpose," according to the description. "In revealing passages, Tebow pulls back the curtain on his life, sharing the vulnerable moments of his career that have shaken him to his core — while also teaching the biblical principles that will enable you to keep the faith, no matter what comes your way."

Tebow led the University of Florida Gators to a national championship as the team's starting quarterback in 2008, after winning the Heisman Trophy on the team in 2007. He was also on the team when it won a championship in 2006 and was the first college sophomore to win a Heisman Trophy in 2007.

Although he has struggled to find his place in the NFL after being drafted to the Denver Broncos in 2010, Tebow signed to the New York Jets in 2012, before getting picked up by the New England Patriots in 2013, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.

Speaking at Liberty University's convocation in 2013, the Christian athlete said: "In the end, football is just a silly game. Greatness comes from serving. Tebow told a crowd of students at a You want to be great? Be a servant. You want to be great? Humble yourself."
