Tom Clancy's The Division Scheduled for 2015 Release

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is an upcoming massive multiplay online game which is a third-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Massive, Ubisoft Reflections, and Ubisoft Red Storm under the Tom Clancy brand. The game is set to be released in 2015 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The game was first revealed during Ubisoft's press conference at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The game is inspired by Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51. These are real-world events which reveals how vulnerable the U.S. has become.

"A devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos," an official description reads.

In the game, the player takes on the role of a special operations agent in a group called the "Strategic Homeland Division (SHD)" or "The Division" for short. The group was established in order to combat any threats brought about by the outbreak.

"The Division agents are trained to operate independently of command, as all else fails. Fighting to prevent the fall of society, the agents will find themselves caught up in an epic conspiracy to combat not only the effects of a manmade virus, but also the rising threat of those behind it," Ubisoft describes.

The game is exclusively multiplayer where gamers will have to team up with friends or other players in order to fight the chaos. Since the game is strictly multiplayer, players will not only find themselves engaging in cooperative multiplayer but also in player-versus-player battles (PVP) as well.

The game is also reportedly going to take place in New York City, specifically Brooklyn and Manhattan and it is unknown on whether more explorable locations will be announced.
