Tyler Robinson pretrial hearing day 5: Defense questions DNA evidence, seeks to ban live broadcast
4. Charlie Kirk’s family cries while watching video played in court
Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, and his mother, Kathy Kirk, cried as prosecutors played a video on Friday showing the moments leading up to the conservative activist’s murder on Sept. 10, 2025.
The conservative activist’s family released a statement following the conclusion of Tyler Robinson’s preliminary hearing, calling it “an important step forward in the pursuit of justice for Charlie.”
“Our family is grateful for the prayers, support, and kindness that has been extended to us, especially through these unimaginably painful and emotionally demanding proceedings,” Charlie Kirk’s loved ones said.
While the family admitted that the last few days have been difficult, they said it brings them comfort to “know that the world has witnessed the overwhelming evidence of what occurred to Charlie that day.”
“Nothing will ever undo the loss of our beloved Charlie. As this case moves into its next phase, we pray that truth will continue to be heard through a process that is fair, transparent, and grounded in the facts,” Kirk’s family stated.
