'Vampire Diaries' Paul Wesley, Phoebe Tonkin Split After Four Years Together

After four years of dating, "Vampire Diaries" co-stars Paul Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin have called it quits.

A source told US Weekly that the couple, who have been dating on-again-off-again for four years, have split. Prior to this, they reportedly broke up sometime in March and reconciled in April. Multiple sources informed the publication that they both moved out of their shared home. But shortly after that, they started becoming friendly again.

Since their last breakup, they opted to keep relationship more private. But Tonkin did share a photo of Wesley in celebration of the "Vampire Diaries" finale, which was on March 10.

US Weekly also pointed out that the former couple no longer follows each other on Instagram.

Though "Vampire Diaries" already wrapped up earlier this year, Tonkin is still part of the spinoff series "The Originals." It, however, is slated to end soon. Its fifth season will be its last.

Executive Producer Julie Plec made the announcement in July of this year. She said, "Ending a show is always bittersweet, but for me, it's a true blessing to be part of making that choice. I want each actor to play their last scene as their character, and to put their character to bed with grace and care."

The "Vampire Diaries" alums started dating in Sept. 2013, about a year after they met on the set of the cult favorite.

Wesley was once married to his "Killer" co-star Torrey DeVitto. They tied the knot in April 2011 and the marriage lasted until July 2013. DeVitto starred alongside her ex-husband on the "Vampire Diaries," playing a recurring character named Meredith Fell.

The co-stars have yet to confirm the recent rumors. Until Wesley and Tonkin confirm the matter, reports should be taken with a grain of salt.
