Welch Begins Bus Tour -- with No Bus


The second leg of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)’s “Everyone Can Kingdom Challenge for Evangelism” bus tour began on Sept 22, but with no bus – Bobby Welch, the president of the SBC and lead member in the tour, began witnessing while at a parking lot in a local Walmart.

Welch, pastor of First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, Fla., ended the first leg of the 50-state bus tour last week to attend an executive board meeting within the SBC. Through the bus tour, set to end in mid October, Welch hopes to reverse a four-year downward baptisms trend among Southern Baptist churches.
