In the second half of the quarterfinals in the UEFA Champions League, Germany battles Spain as WFL Wolfsburg host Real Madrid at the VOLKSWAGEN ARENA.

This will be the first leg of their battle and it is on April 6, 2016 at 2:45 PM ET.

To reach this stage of the competition, Wolfsburg had to face Belgian outfit Gent. They took care of business by winning 3-2 after a great performance by Julian Draxler, who scored two goals in that first leg.

Already with an advantage, Wolfsburg then played at home with a sense of purpose to finish off their opponents with a 1-0 win after Andre Schurrle's goal in the 74th minute ensured their victory as they moved on thanks to a 4-2 aggregate win.

However, things are tough for Wolfsburg at the moment, as they are winless in their last three games across all competitions.

After their win against Gent, they fell 1-0 to Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga before settling for a 1-1 draw against Darmstadt 98.

In their last game they were handed a heavy 3-0 loss against Bayer Leverkusen and are now hoping to turn things around against the Los Blancos.

At the moment, Wolfsburg are eighth in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, Madrid took care of business in the previous round of the UEFA Champions League when they faced AS Roma.

In the first leg, they took a 2-0 aggregate advantage after goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese Rodriguez gave them a big advantage before their home tie.

When they played at home, they established the same dominance over their Italian counterpart as Ronaldo scored again and James Rodriguez put the ball on the back of the net to give them another win and move on thanks to a 4-0 aggregate victory.

Madrid have a lot of momentum as they recently beat Barcelona 2-1 in the Spanish La Liga and have now won their last six games across all competitions.

However, they are still third in their league with only a handful of matches remaining.
