What Does God Say about Patience?

. . . Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. James 1:19

The Bible says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials [hard times] of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance [patience]" (James 1:2-3). Hard times in your life will test your faith in God. You might want to say to God, "Help me get better now!" or "Help me get a new bike soon!" Will you be patient and keep living for God even if He says, "Wait"?

As a Christian, you can wait patiently on the Lord knowing your life is in God's control. "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD" (Psalm 27:14). When you show patience by waiting on the Lord, you will grow stronger. Next time you face a hard time, let God use it to teach you to be patient.
