When Will Jesus Return to Earth?

. . . Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures . . . 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Suddenly, when we least expect it, Jesus will come back to Earth! The prophets foretold that Jesus would come the first time, and He did. The prophets have also told us to look for His coming again. The Bible says, "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God . . ." (1 Thessalonians 4:16). Jesus Himself also promised His return to Earth someday. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be . . . where I am" (John 14:3). He is coming to take His children home to Heaven.

When will it happen? He didn't say. It could happen any day at any time. The Bible does tell us certain events to look for that would be clues to Jesus' return. His coming could take place in your lifetime! If you have not trusted the Lord Jesus as your Savior, this could be frightening news! You will be left to endure much suffering. But you can trust in Him today! If you have already trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you should be excited about seeing Him face to face!
