White House Insists Unborn Babies Should Be Counted for Tour

In a "crazy" twist the White House is requiring that people registering for a White House Tour also register their unborn children. The White House is now adding unborn babies to their official guest list.

"We have received a number of calls regarding how to enter security information for a baby that has not yet been born," wrote Ellie Schafer, Director of the White House Visitors Office (VO), in a May 8 morning email. "Crazy as it may sound, you MUST (emphasis Ellie's) include the baby in the overall count of guests in the tour. It's an easy process."

Heartbeat International applauds the official White House VO policy of counting unborn visitors and tracking their birth details with subsequent reporting.

If the White House recognizes "a baby that has not yet been born" in their official White House guest roster – even assigning the little one a guest information record in their database – then why can't they count unborn babies as children worth saving from the violence of abortion.

Heartbeat International counts every "baby that has not yet been born" as an individual worth saving. As a Christ-centered organization, we recognize that a single human soul is worth more than the entire material universe.

That a new human being exists once fertilization has occurred is an undeniable scientific fact. Embryology textbooks state that once fertilization has occurred, a new human being exists, unique from the sperm and the egg from which it was formed.

At Heartbeat affiliated pregnancy centers, we explain to women the gestational age of the child and specific details of human development. We let moms know that the baby's heart starts beating at three weeks and brain waves can be detected as early as six weeks. "A child that has not yet been born" can feel pain around 20 weeks, some reports indicate earlier. Pregnancy center staff and volunteers highlight the inherent value of the unborn child and work to restore the dignity of women, many of whom have been objectified and dehumanized.

Heartbeat's compassionate network of care provides practical help and emotional support so that each woman faced with an untimely pregnancy can welcome new life.

We are thankful the White House VO has issued this directive and is now welcoming the unborn. It is so refreshing to have the White House Visitors Office act in such a life-honoring way. We appreciate that White House VO staff is letting others know that "a baby that has not yet been born" is worth counting. Hopefully, others will follow suit.

Here are the instructions from the White House on how to register "a baby that has not yet been born":

The baby's security information should be entered as follows:

• LAST NAME: The family's last name
• FIRST NAME: "Baby" as a first name
• MIDDLE NAME: NMN as in No Middle Name
• DOB: Use the date you are submitting the request to us as their birthday
• GENDER: if the parents know put that gender down if not, you can enter either M or F as we'll ask you to update it at the time of birth
• SOCIAL: As they will not have a SSN and are under 18, you will not need to enter this field. Again if the spreadsheet asked for a social enter 9 zero's (not the word nine zeros but 000000000 and yes it happens!)
• CITIZEN/CITY/STATE: The citizen, city and state should be entered the same as the parents

"Once, the baby is born, you should send an email to the VO inbox with the tour request ID number, the baby's given name, their actual birthday and gender," said Schafer. "We can then update the newborn guest's information within our system."

Our prayer is that Planned Parenthood (America's largest abortion provider), with its strong White House connection, will quickly implement this White House VO directive of counting babies not yet born. Nine out of 10 pregnant women who enter Planned Parenthood abort their babies.

Question for Ms. Schafer: What happens if the unborn child who visited the White House, and was registered as a "guest," also visits Planned Parenthood?

Hopefully, with this new White House strategy of counting and registering "a baby that has not yet been born," we can stop Planned Parenthood from updating the "newborn guest's information" with "exterminated."
