Who Does Hollywood Say Jesus Is? Christian Actors, Filmmakers Share Their Experiences

In 2009, former "One Life to Live" actress Patricia Mauceri confirmed Sababto's claims about people in Hollywood being fired for standing up for their faith.

Mauceri was abruptly fired and replaced after 14-years on the hit series for objecting to supporting a homosexual storyline because of her Christian beliefs.

Fox News reported that Mauceri's character, a Hispanic mother, was asked to have gay-affirming dialogue on the show that was not in line with the Christian character she helped create for the daytime drama.

"I did not object to being in a gay storyline. I objected to speaking the truth of what that person, how that person would live and breathe and act in that storyline," she told Fox News. "And this goes against everything I am, my belief system, and what I know the character's belief system is aligned to."

Mauceri, who was fired despite offering changes to the script, said in the years that followed she was bullied and not offered any further work in the industry.
