Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose Pay Tribute to Whitney Houston

Wiz Khalifa was among many who led in a tribute to Whitney Houston at Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Feb. 11.

The tribute occurred at the same hotel were the iconic singer died only a few hours before. The Pittsburgh rapper lifted the audiences' spirits when he treated the crowd to a live performance of his hits "Black and Yellow" and "Young, Wild & Free."

The next day, on the red carpet at the Grammy's, Khalifa explained that he performed for the fans in an effort to do his part to help keep the mood spirited and uplifted.

"I just really was feeling the spirit of the event," Khalifa told MTV while he was on the red carpet. He continued to explain that he "felt like everybody just had that rock star appeal it wasn't anything somber or sad."

Rather he described the scene as "a bunch of rich people who knew who they were and knew what they were representing so I just wanted to bring some flavor."

Siding with her man and glowing in a modest single-shouldered yellow dress, Khlifa's girlfriend Amber Rose spoke of an evening at Davis' party that was a heartfelt affair in honor of Whitney Houston.

"I grew up listening to Whitney in my household constantly," Rose said. "Me and my mom cried yesterday when we found out that she had passed away because we really felt like she was a part of our family."

Rose went on to describe a childhood that featured the late stars timeless voice. "We've always heard her voice in our house. Life is short and you gotta live it to the fullest."

The starlet continued, "We all love Whitney and last night was a celebration for her life and that's exactly what we did. We celebrated her life and the amazing person she is."
