Wiz Khalifa Arrested for Marijuana Possession in Texas, Tweets Jail Selfie (PHOTOS)

Wiz Khalifa was arrested for marijuana possession in Texas Sunday morning, according to reports. The "Black and Yellow" rapper was flying from El Paso to Dallas when the Transportation Security Administration spotted the weed and detained him.

Wiz Khalifa, 26, didn't reveal exactly what happened at the airport, but authorities said they found a "green leafy substance" in the amount of 0.5 grams on his person, according to TMZ. Shortly afterwards, the rapper tweeted a "jail selfie," which was then retweeted by his fans nearly 50,000 times.

The news of Khalifa's arrest spread fast, and #FreeTrapWiz began trending on Twitter. His detainment was especially important to fans because he was due to release his mixtape, the coincidentally-titled 28 Grams, the same day.

"I wanna drop 28 Grams but they got me locced up," Khalifa, born Cameron Jibril Thomaz, posted to Twitter. "Soon as I get out, the tapes comin out. F— that."

True to his word, later on that Sunday, he was released and so was 28 Grams. The rapper previously described the mixtape as something to get fans geared up for his full album release and North American tour later on this year.

"The album is going to come right after the tour," he said on the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards last week. "I'm going to use the tour to set it up and get 'em ready for it."

This is hardly Khalifa's first arrest for marijuana offenses. He was caught with weed in May 2012 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and in Nashville the month before that. The rapper previously said that he spends upwards of $10,000 on marijuana a month.
