'X-Files' Reboot News, Update: Showrunner Chris Carter Shares Plot Spoilers and Filming Locations

Amidst the anticipation for the revival of the hit science fiction horror TV drama series "The X-Files," show creator Chris Carter released what appears to be some information on what to expect when the show returns to the small screens. Meanwhile, an interview with Carter revealed the reason behind their choice of filming location.

"You really get what you have come to expect with 'The X-Files,' which is a combination of the ongoing Mulder [David Duchovny] and Scully [Gillian Anderson] conspiracy saga, relationship and standalone episodes that will come interspersed," he told The Vancouver Sun. "That said, it will all be of a piece, meaning that it won't feel disconnected. It'll all feel as if it's taking place in what I would call television 'real time.'"

Although Mulder and Scully were together when the show left, they will return, still unmarried and will have a relationship that "is not where we left it," he said.

The Canadian publication probed further and found out that Carter has already written the first draft which will see some changes on the primary characters.

"They've grown up. They've matured, their sensibilities have matured, their relationship has matured and evolved," he said.

The interview, meanwhile tackled on the show's choice of filming location which is particularly in Vancouver. The main reason, as revealed, is its "dark," "wintertime" ambience.

"It gives you a tremendous natural environment to shoot in and also a free atmosphere … You get long, dark nights in the wintertime. 'X-Files' is a show that a lot of it is night-time work, you get a moodiness, you get oftentimes a greycast that really helps the look of the show," he said.

As reported earlier, filming for the X-Files reboot will commence this summer of 2015 and will consist of six episodes.
