Xbox One Backward Compatibility Games List: 'GTA 4' Added; Complete DLC Included
"Grand Theft Auto 4" ("GTA 4") has finally been added to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program by Microsoft, which means that the 2008 hit will finally be playable on the current-generation console.
All versions of "GTA 4," which includes the physical, digital and the Complete Edition were all included in the title's jump to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility.
The downloadable content (DLC) that was released for the open-world action-adventure third-person shooter will also be available on the Xbox One.
Those who have a copy of the digital version can simply install "GTA 4" on their Xbox One, while players with the physical version should simply insert the disc in the console and they are good to go.
Gamers who want to try the newly inducted Xbox One Backward Compatibility game can purchase it from the Xbox Store, where the DLCs, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony are available too.
"GTA 4" is the second game in the recent past that Rockstar added to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program. The other is "Red Dead Redemption."
The new Xbox One-playable game follows the story of Niko Bellic and his cousin Roman, who are looking to live the American Dream fresh from Europe.
The former is looking to escape his past while the latter sees Liberty City as their saving grace, the place that could put them back on track with all the opportunities and fortunes it presents. The rest of the description for "GTA 4" reads:
"As they slip into debt and are dragged into a criminal underworld by a series of shysters, thieves and sociopaths, they discover that the reality is very different from the dream in a city that worships money and status, and is heaven for those who have them and a living nightmare for those who don't."
Just last week, Microsoft brought "LEGO Indiana Jones" into the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program while the company ended the month of January with "JUJU," "Mad Tracks" and "Stuntman: Ignition."
