'You're the Reason Mass Shootings Happen' Man Tells Christian College Student Via Online Dating Site

A Christian college senior was forced to call 911 after she rejected the advances of a man she met on an online dating site and he threatened to kill her and others, according to KIROTV.

Twenty-one-year-old Holly Mason, a student at Seattle Pacific University met 24-year-old Adam Carter-Campbell through OkCupid. Things seemed normal until Mason turned his advances down, at which point he got angry with her, and she decided to ban his account from contacting her.

However, Carter-Campbell did not take the hint, and he quickly created a whole new account and used it to send threatening and violent messages to Mason.

"I dream of a paradise where you and I can go to an island where no one can hear you scream," he wrote in one terrifying message.

"Dude you got me banned wtf. You're the reason that mass shootings happen. I blame you entirely, but I'm tryna fix it for everyone. You just gotta be nicer to me, that way I won't have the inclination to go kill a bunch of people," another message said. "It's really simnple [sic], if you be my friend, we can change the world together and then people weon't [sic] have to die anymore."

Mason was terrified by Carter-Campbell's messages, and she quickly decided to call 911.

"I didn't know what kind of weapons he had access to. I was worried for everyone else because he was so angry about something I did. It was more like I don't want this on my head and I don't want to see Seattle hurt," Mason told KIROTV.

Police arrested Carter-Campbell and is currently in prison with a bail set at $100,000. Authorities have searched his apartment but have found no weapons. He does not have a criminal history. Investigations are ongoing.
