ZTE Unveils The Grand X3 And The Avid Plus At CES 2016
Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE is trying to break through the smartphone market in the U.S. with a slew of new smartphones aiming to provide decent specs at an affordable price. At the CES 2016 in Las Vegas, ZTE unveiled two new devices, the Grand X3 and the Avid Plus, according to a Tech Times report.
During the company's pre-conference event, the two phones were announced and were available for hands-on viewing at the ZTE booth during the conference.
The Grand X3 is the bigger among the two new phones, with a 5.5-inch screen with 720p resolution. The most important feature of this device is its price. For only $129.99, it is intended for those who are looking for a powerful device at an affordable price. According to Gadgets 360, the device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor running at 1.3 GHz and paired with 2 GB of RAM. Its cameras are an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. Internal storage is available at 16 GB, which is expandable up to 64 GB via a microSD card. The device comes pre-installed with Android Lollipop 5.1. It is powered by a decent 3,080 mAh battery. Audio is powered by Dolby.
The Grand X3 will be available exclusively through Cricket Wireless and will be available without contract.
The second device is the smaller 5-inch ZTE Avid Plus. Screen resolution is FWVGA or 480 x 854 pixels and the screen is protected by scratch resistant glass by Dragontrail. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, clocked at 1.1 GHz and paired with 1 GB of RAM. Internal storage is at 8 GB and is expandable via a microSD card. It will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. Camera-wise, it has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. The device is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery.
Priced at $114.99 off-contract, it will be carried by T-Mobile starting January 20. MetroPCS will also carry it at a yet unannounced date.
