The global phenomenon "Pokémon Go" will be playable in the Apple Watch 2.
Apple's devices are slowly becoming games and entertainment-oriented as Super Mario is also coming to iPhones in a new game called "Super Mario Runs". Apple iOS users will soon be able to catch Pokémon with their Apple Watch 2 as the game expands to other devices outside of smartphones and tablets.

"Pokémon Go" is coming to Apple Watch 2, according to the announcement made by Apple and Nintendo at the Apple Event 2016 this week, VOX reported. "Pokémon Go" has been very popular on Android and iOS mobile devices ever since it launched a couple of months ago.

For those unfamiliar with the game, "Pokémon Go" is an augmented reality game that uses a mobile device's GPS to help the game determine the player's location. This way, players can also "catch" Pokémon in various places shown in the app. "Pokémon Go" has been downloaded more than 500 million times since it was launched.
Playing 'Pokémon Go' in Apple Watch 2
According to Mirror, players will still need a mobile device to play "Pokémon Go" using their Apple Watch 2. However, the Apple Watch 2 will make playing "Pokémon Go" more convenient and less distracting as usage of smartphones and mobile devices will be minimized. The Apple Watch 2 will alert users of nearby Pokémon and PokéStops. Catching the Pokémon, however, will require their smartphones.
'Super Mario Runs' on Apple Watch 2
During the Apple Event 2016 this week, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto described the mechanics of "Super Mario Runs". Miyamoto explained that the game is intended to be played with one hand, Chicago Tribune noted. This will leave the other hand free to do other things and will be convenient if the player is on-the-go. There is no pricing yet for "Super Mario Runs", but Miyamoto reiterated that there will be no in-app purchases that will hinder the player from progressing.

The Apple Watch 2 is expectedly an upgraded version of its predecessor with better GPS connectivity, longer battery life and an upgraded processor which runs 50 percent faster. According to Telegraph, the Apple Watch 2 is also waterproof up to 50 meters. The price for the standard Apple Watch 2 is $269. Various versions of the Apple Watch 2 also have varying prices which can be found at their official website.
