However, fans should not worry because Steve Rogers will still appear in the upcoming film. Writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus hinted that the superhero –turned-fugitive in the MCU may reunite with the Avengers using another name.

Star-Lord is Coming

The Russo Brothers also revealed that the cast of the upcoming film will be bigger than ever. Per Comicbook.com, the directors confirmed that Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" will join the epic superhero team-up. Anthony said that he is excited with the new addition because Pratt is an awesome actor and Star-Lord is a fantastic character.

Aside from Star-Lord, the recent additions to the expanding cast of "The Avengers" are Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). The original main characters of the superhero film series include Captain America, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

Joe also revealed that they tried to ignore the pressure of topping the success of the previous films in the series. He added that their focus on the upcoming film is the storytelling and on how characters will fit into the narrative.

Sorry, There Will be No X-Men Appearance

The Russo Brothers also debunked speculations that the beloved X-Men characters will appear in the MCU. Joe said that there is no ongoing negotiation for X-Men characters to make a crossover in the upcoming film.

Joe also implicated that the appearance is almost impossible. He said that the idea may require a special situation considering that the rights of the X-Men characters are owned by 20th Century Fox.

"Avengers: Infinity War" will come to theaters in 2018. Another to-be-titled film about the biggest superhero team-up in the widescreen will follow in 2019.
