Battlefield 4 DLC Naval Strike Xbox One Update: Expansion Delayed Until April 2014

Battlefield 4's Naval Strike DLC will be delayed for the Xbox One announced EA DICE in a recent statement.

Originally slated for a March 25 launch for premium subscribers, now the company is looking to put the game out in early April. The delays stem from "issues in the animation system that hinder players from engaging targets in set circumstances using popular weapon configurations," wrote DICE on the game's Battlefield Blog.

Naval Strike was also delayed on the Windows PC earlier this week, but still managed to launch on the PS3, PS4, and Xbox 360.

"We are trying to resolve these problems as quickly as possible and hope to release the update in early April for Xbox One and PC," a post read. "We also want to remind Xbox One and PC owners of Battlefield 4 Premium that they will have two weeks early access for Naval Strike once it's released. Thanks for your continued patience and passion for our games."

Naval Strike DLC will contain unique features, including changing weather patterns, dusk to dawn fights, and of course, a hovercraft.
" There'll be calm seas, stormy weather and many other weather effects," a post on the Battlefield Blog said. "For instance, on the Mortar Strike map, you'll start fighting at dawn and the map will be lit up by the resort lights. As the fight rages on, the sunrise will drench the tropical island in beautiful sunlight."

On the blog, the Battlefield 4 creators discussed some of the functions of the new DLC, including the hovercraft.

"The new hovercraft, or ACV, is a very fast transport vehicle with a driver and a passenger position that travels seamless between water and land. This unique ability has many advantages; you can for instance maneuver away from boats by short cutting through an island instead of going around it. These new abilities are exciting for us to bring to our players and I can't wait to see what crazy stuff we will see from this vehicle in the game!" they wrote.

Naval Strike's Carrier Assault Mode will be a throwback to Titan Mode in Battlefield 2142.

The DLC will take place in the South China Sea, and involve two teams attacking each others aircraft carriers, reported Polygon. The battle takes place on three fronts.
